Well, history always repeats itself right? At least I am consistent right?! Part of it is that life is so boring (but super busy)- but there are moments that I just simply do not want to forget!
As for this last week ... lets see. My parents are amazing and every year on Mother's day they give each of us beautiful hanging pots of flowers and I have never had anywhere to put them! Even this year I don't have anywhere to hang them, so my mom came and helped me plant my flower pots and I couldn't be happier with how they turned out! I am so blessed! As long on we are on the topic of Mother's day- it was a great one! My boys made me a delicious breakfast casserole that we all enjoyed together... when I say enjoyed together I mean- Carter just wanted the chocolate milk and it was a battle to get him to eat anything else, Decker kept throwing his food to Sophie and there were bouts of shouting between Decker and Carter- there new favorite game. I loved every minute of it. Church was great, there were some wonderful talks that I heard most of! I did have to teach in Relief Society- so I was a little stressed about that, but I feel it turned out well. Then we came home and I took a NAP! I never get those, it was so rejuvenating. I love being a mom, but I feel like I don't say that enough! My boys are busy, busy, busy and some days I feel like pulling my hair out, but other days I try to savor every. single. minute. because I know soon enough my littles won't be so little anymore. Being a mom is the hardest thing I have ever done, but also the most rewarding.
We have been (and when I say we, I mean Stuart) working endlessly on a few house projects. Right now our biggest one is the backyard...its truly scary looking out there. On Friday we got the final stump out, and boy it was a doozey- it probably weighed 1500 lbs. . . But YAY! We are finally able to excavate the excess dirt (On this saturday) and start on the next phase of the back yard project. We are sooooooo blessed to have our good friend Scott Green helping us. He is very knowledgeable and has most of the big equipment that we are in need of! Carter loves all the tractors and the fact that Scott is over all the time (he loves Brother Green).
Stuart is also working so hard on our hall bathroom, to get the tiling done so we can use the shower and deeper bathtub! I am so proud of him. He has been teaching himself how to do all these hard projects and he works 45+ hours a week and then comes home to work MORE on the house and he is now the Young Mens president--- so he is busy busy busy, but he still takes time to spend with me and our precious boys.
Carter is in a hard phase right now... I can't wait for him to grow out of this one. He likes to throw these MASSIVE tantrums whenever he doesn't get what he wants and if you have met him, you know how strong willed he can be... He still makes us laugh every single day though and I love seeing him grow and learn. We do have to watch what we say because he is repeating everything we say.... For example, we get a little annoyed with the pinecones from and normally say "freaking pine cones" well now he thinks that is the only way to refer to pinecones. Another funny one is he had a little accident and got some poop on his carpet and he heard Stuart say to me "so he got crap on the carpet" and later that day Carter came and asked me if I got all the "crap" off his carpet.... Having a 3 year old keeps me on my toes, thats for sure!
Decker is growing like a weed and discovering more and more each day. His smile truly melts my heart and I am so glad he is in our family. He is still very much a mamas boy, and thats okay with me! He LOVES to be outside and he is super suicidal and has to be watched constantly when we are out front. He thinks it is HILARIOUS to walk out into the middle of the street- and we live on a little bit of a busy street. . . Darn child. He likes to do just about anything!
Sophie is also growing like a weed... and today has been driving me nuts, so maybe I shouldn't write about her today--- but really she is an awesome puppy and a quick learner.
I just love how life has its moments. Some are good, some are bad, and we are so lucky to have some of both. I have been known to be pretty pessimistic- but I am trying to work on that. Life is amazing. I have to remember "what matters most" instead of focusing on things that don't matter quite as much. Like- having a spotless house is not as important as spending time with my little boys while they are little and enjoying the moments I have with them.
Till Sunday... xoxo
