Well hello there again. I am making progress with this blogging thing, right? I am not sure anyone else is really reading these- but I am starting to really enjoy this!
This morning when Carter got up he went and looked out the door and said "Apparently its raining outside." I love that he is using words that he hears us say! Which means we have to be careful what we say! He has quite the attitude on him lately. . . Heaven help us. They say at age 4 they are better... how many days till he is 4??? :) This week we decided that he is probably done with naps (saddest day ever for me- thats when I work)- makes for a little bit of a rough (ornery) afternoon, but he is going to bed at a decent hour! Saturday while Decker was napping and Stuart was working on the yard, Cater and I went to my friend Ruths house and we helped her pack. We are going to miss her when she moves! We have loved going on walks with her and her fun dogs- and running errands together! DON'T MOVE RUTH!
Decker has had a rough week! His fever was 103+ for the majority of the week and he didn't want to eat. We were told Hand, Foot and mouth, but on Saturday he woke up from his nap with a new and different looking rash on his face and tummy... So me, being the paranoid mother that I am, took pictures and sent them to our doctor and he said it is Roseola ... I can see he is on the mend, but the poor kid has had a rough week. He is still always able to make us laugh and smile. He has picked up a few more words and I have taught him a few signs as well. His favorite words: "uh oh", "all done" (he signs that one too), and "mama". He loves to walk around the house and just babble, its my most favorite sound. But he has also started to throw major fits when he doesn't get what he wants... oh boy!! He has this HIGH pitched scream and his face is priceless- I will capture it on camera one of these days!
Stuart is the best. He has been working so hard on the backyard and its looking SOOOOO much better and I love seeing the progress! We are so excited for many reasons... having all the pine trees out we can see that we actually have a pretty big yard, we will be able to landscape how we want, its coming along so nicely. SO what he did yesterday... small background. . . our yard was SO lumpy and some straight up hills- it was absolutely HORRIBLE. . . so when we took the trees out we felt it would be the perfect time to fix that. We rented a skid loader to use for the day and it was so awesome. The other problem was that it slanted toward the house -- so Stuart decided to put in a retaining wall and drop the rest of the ground down to the lowest part of the land. . . I don't know if that makes sense... but yesterday he excavated thousands of pounds of dirt so we can have a level yard! Its hard to tell from the pictures- and they don't do it justice!
I have been busy with work and holding Decker... (he is quite needy when he doesn't feel well- again with good reason). Working, trying to keep a clean house, grocery shopping and trying to spend as much quality time with my family as possible. We also go on lots of walks to see the cows, and now baby horse, and try to spend as much time outside as possible-- but this week has been chilly and rainy... Let's see... I have a goal this week to make my bed every day- this is one of the hardest things for me to do, and my other goal is to read my scriptures with my boys every day. I will report next week! :)
Till next week xoxo
