"Honey"

Wahoo. I am on a roll. :) SOO this week- was seemingly boring, but looking back at the pictures I took- maybe it wasn't? Its been a fun week!

Let's start out with my goals for this last week- well if you remember it was to read the scriptures with my boys every day-- sadly I only did this 2 days this week. SO this will be my goal for this week as well. My second goal was to make my bed every day- I am HAPPY to report that I did much better with this goal. I made the bed 5 out of the 7 days. :) But I want to keep this goal for another week as well. Wish me Luck! :)

Carter tarter pants... He has said some pretty funny things this week. First and foremost -- he has started calling me HONEY. It drives me bonkers and he thinks it is hilarious.... Stuart thinks it is funny too... gah. Another thing is when he is playing pretend he refers to himself as Carter Turnbow. So I asked him why he was saying "Turnbow" for his last name and he said so he could be just like Grandma Turnbow. . . That kid man, he cracks us up and keeps us on our toes. He is still a mr. cranky pants the majority of the time and thinks he needs to get whatever he wants- but we are working on that! He has a "puff jar" that we add puffs to and can take out of- once that is full he gets to pick a fun activity to do, he wants Chuck-E-Cheese... we have a week or so to change his mind! HELP! Haha Also this week, our friend Ruth moved :( We tried to spend as much time with her this week as we could. We miss her already. When she was starting to pack her truck we stopped by and Carter was "directing" everyone on how to pack the truck- I don't think they were that amused, but I couldn't stop laughing. We cut naps from his schedule this week- and so he has been extra cranky this week- as this is a transition for all of us....

Decker. Well he has learned to scream when he doesn't get his way- so that's fun. And its like the obnoxious top of your lungs type of scream. He also discovered that he can climb and he loves climbing on everything. . . Ahh he has so much fun. He loves to be outside -especially when there are tractors out there digging and making a big mess of the yard. Biggest thing of this week for Decker was he went on his first dirt bike ride... I was, of course, nervous- but he seemed to enjoy it. Today at church during 3rd hour he played for a few minutes with our friend Marc and they were being really cute. Decker has been in a phase where he pulls everyones hair- but today he just wanted to pull out the pacifier. I can't figure out why he likes to do that- he has NEVER wanted a pacifier, but he always feels the need to pull it out of the mouth of any little kid that has one... BULLY. We are working on that as well. <sigh>

Stuart works so hard everyday at his work and then comes home and works more on the house. The bathroom is still the same. But the backyard is where we Stuart has made the most progress and it makes me SO excited. Scott green came over on Friday and tilled the dirt and made the area more even... and then Stuart spent Saturday starting the retaining wall process. He has the trenches dug out (for the most part) and then he has been using a tamper to even it all out. It is a lot of work! His plan for this week is to work on the retaining wall a little bit every day and hopefully be able to have that part finished by next Sunday. Stuart was able to have some fun this week, he went dirt bike riding on Friday morning with his brother James- and they (so I am told) had a great time.

A little side story- on Friday night our internet went out and luckily we were able to have someone out on Saturday morning. Turns out somehow Stuart had clipped the line--- but it all worked out and it took all the boys in the house to help the tech to figure it out.

As for me. I kept my boys, and Sophie alive this week. ha! But for real this week I started doing a deep spring on the house- one room at a time. Its not my favorite thing to do, but I love the feeling after! I also took the kids on a few walks to see the cows and horses. And we also went to the park a few times! It was so much fun. We also played in the back (and front) yard a lot! The dirt is the perfect playground for small boys! Lots of baths ... So worth it.

Sophie is HUGE, and she had shots this week- and we scheduled her appointment to be spayed... She was a huge pill this week and has started to show us her stubborn side. But then she looks at us with her puppy eyes and ears and we remember why we got her! :) Just love her to pieces.

Till next week! xoxo

Update on Summer

Well- I did it again. I stopped posting, life got in the way. I can't believe how fast the summer went, I mean, really. I wish I could say it was because we went on super fun vacations and to the pool all the time... because that certainly is not the case. I am a pretty boring mom. :) We stayed home a lot and went on a lot of bike rides. I wish I would have gone swimming more with the littles, but I was too nervous to take them on my own. Both Carter and Decker love the water and have no fear- which makes for one anxious mama at the pool. The other part is I was not feeling well because of the pregnancy-- but I will do a separate post on that next. So we played a lot inside and worked on the yard. . . oh the yard! I just have to say that its looking amazing! All of Stuart's hard work paid off. The grass is coming in and is simply beautiful!!!! We have been clear to walk on the front and even mow it! The back is a little bit slower in coming ...

What would you do for a free cookie?

I just have to post this so I don't forget this. What I am about to relate is 100% true and I am, honestly, still in shock from it all. . . At the end of last week Carter and our little neighbor friend (he is a few years older than Carter) were having a great time playing. They decided to go and ride bikes. Now, since Carter is only 4, we really limit where he is allowed to ride his bike without a parent. (I know I am kind of like a helicopter parent- but he is ONLY 4!) So when the boys headed out I reminded him to stay on our street and out of the street and to let me know where he would be at all times. . . That last I knew- they were going to be at his friends house... So when his mom texted me and asked me to send him home--- you know me--- I went into FULL panic mode. Went outside and was looking up and down the street and they were no where to be seen. Now full panic mode was pushed into border line panic attack mode. . . So about 30  okay 8 minutes later here came Carter d...
