Cousin time, barf, retaining wall and more...

Well we have had a little bit more of an eventful week! :)

On Monday we had some company! We got to go to the Hill AirForce Museum and look at all the planes with my mom, Erica, Kash and Nixon. It was a lot of fun looking at all the planes and spending time with family! Makes me super homesick! But we had so much fun!

On Tuesday we all got our hair cut- I know big deal right? Well is was for one of us! Sweet Decker had his first hair cut... now he looks like a little boy and not a baby!! :( Where has the time gone?! He is getting so big. I am so proud that I didn't cry when he got it cut! Carter is going through a phase where he hates getting his hair cut and throws a fit over it.. (shocking, my 3 year old is throwing fits...) The boys were so patient while my hair was getting done- I got highlights and that is quite the process! :) But its so 100% worth it.

Wednesday- oh you know, just a normal, ordinary day. Sophie and Decker annoyed the heck out of each other... and Carter annoyed the heck out of me... Just Kidding (kind of). We played outside and enjoyed the beautiful weather! Decker likes to lounge in his chair- well he likes to lounge/sit everywhere! :)

Thursday we went to a park and it was so much fun! Decker is starting to really explore things and he is quite the daredevil! I love it and hate it at the same time! He is so much fun to watch and I wish he had little thought bubbles so I could know what he is thinking/wondering about! I also wish Carter had those same bubbles.... I mean he talks all day, every day- but sometimes I wish I could know what he really is thinking. He throws fits and says "fine, I am not going to do ________ ever again" and then he folds his arms and stomps off....

Thursday night Decker thought it would be fun to barf all over me- twice. Darn kid got the stomach bug! (not blogging about it now- please refer to the "Barf" post).

Friday we laid low so that Decker could get feeling better- he was a little dehydrated so we had to push fluids like crazy - even if he was still throwing up a bit. I was getting worried- which should surprise no one... Thank you anxiety. But Decker did take a LONG afternoon nap which was awesome. I was able to get a solid chunk of work done and I was also able to do some fun hand writing activities with Carter! We practiced letters in shaving cream! It was fun for both of us!! Since we cut naps for Carter he gets really tired towards the end of the week- He fell asleep on my bed while watching Trolls... since Stuart was watching a basketball game we cuddled and watched a movie on my bed.

Saturday we spent the morning working on the retaining wall! It was actually fun, even though Stuart made fun of me for how weak I am... hahah but it was so cute- Carter kept saying, "look we are all working as a family"! Decker was napping- Carter was digging around for dinosaur bones and Stuart and I were putting the wall together. Don't worry- Stuart made sure to do all the HEAVY lifting. I was in charge of glue and shoveling small amounts of dirt.

Carter has been filling a jar with "puffs" to earn a reward- in this case he wanted to go to Sky Trampoline place here in Layton. Well he filled his jar, so we called Blaine and Erica to see if they wanted to join us! Carter was so excited to have his cousins come with us!!!!! We spent an hour there and then went to Nielsens for Custard. Such a fun day! Now we have to fill the jar again (he earns puffs for good behavior)- but this time he wants to go to Chuck-E-Cheese. . . HELP ME CHANGE HIS MIND PLEASE!!!!!

Sunday--- gah. Sacrament meeting is SOOOOO hard (well who I am kidding, all 3 hours are hard at this stage of Decker's life)... I swear we are the joke of the meeting. There should be bets on 1. How many times I take Decker out. 2. How many times we have to tell Carter to whisper 3. How many times Decker tries to escape the pew. . . Any who- I do love to go to church, I just can not wait for October when Decker goes to nursery!! :) Stuart had to leave right after church for a business trip- and he will be gone ALL week...So I will need lots of play dates, please call me... :)  But to get back on track- I always worry about things going wrong while Stuart is gone. ANNNNDDDD well, Stuart was gone just over 2 hours and we had an incident. Carter fell and bit through his lip and cheek... While we were at the park-which we walked to. I panicked (of course) and called my AMAZING neighbor and she came and got us...and then I called one of my wonderful home teachers and he and his wife (who is a nurse) came and checked on us. I feel so lucky and blessed.

Till next week- oxox

"Honey"

Wahoo. I am on a roll. :) SOO this week- was seemingly boring, but looking back at the pictures I took- maybe it wasn't? Its been a fun week! Let's start out with my goals for this last week- well if you remember it was to read the scriptures with my boys every day-- sadly I only did this 2 days this week. SO this will be my goal for this week as well. My second goal was to make my bed every day- I am HAPPY to report that I did much better with this goal. I made the bed 5 out of the 7 days. :) But I want to keep this goal for another week as well. Wish me Luck! :) Carter tarter pants... He has said some pretty funny things this week. First and foremost -- he has started calling me HONEY. It drives me bonkers and he thinks it is hilarious.... Stuart thinks it is funny too... gah. Another thing is when he is playing pretend he refers to himself as Carter Turnbow. So I asked him why he was saying "Turnbow" for his last name and he said so he could be just like Grandm...

Update on Summer

Well- I did it again. I stopped posting, life got in the way. I can't believe how fast the summer went, I mean, really. I wish I could say it was because we went on super fun vacations and to the pool all the time... because that certainly is not the case. I am a pretty boring mom. :) We stayed home a lot and went on a lot of bike rides. I wish I would have gone swimming more with the littles, but I was too nervous to take them on my own. Both Carter and Decker love the water and have no fear- which makes for one anxious mama at the pool. The other part is I was not feeling well because of the pregnancy-- but I will do a separate post on that next. So we played a lot inside and worked on the yard. . . oh the yard! I just have to say that its looking amazing! All of Stuart's hard work paid off. The grass is coming in and is simply beautiful!!!! We have been clear to walk on the front and even mow it! The back is a little bit slower in coming ...

What would you do for a free cookie?

I just have to post this so I don't forget this. What I am about to relate is 100% true and I am, honestly, still in shock from it all. . . At the end of last week Carter and our little neighbor friend (he is a few years older than Carter) were having a great time playing. They decided to go and ride bikes. Now, since Carter is only 4, we really limit where he is allowed to ride his bike without a parent. (I know I am kind of like a helicopter parent- but he is ONLY 4!) So when the boys headed out I reminded him to stay on our street and out of the street and to let me know where he would be at all times. . . That last I knew- they were going to be at his friends house... So when his mom texted me and asked me to send him home--- you know me--- I went into FULL panic mode. Went outside and was looking up and down the street and they were no where to be seen. Now full panic mode was pushed into border line panic attack mode. . . So about 30  okay 8 minutes later here came Carter d...
