Another boring (normal) week.

This week I don't have too much to report. It was just a normal week in our house. . . For the most part. On Monday it was Memorial day- so we spent the day cleaning (me) and yard work (Stuart). We also went and dropped a butt load of mula on the retaining wall blocks to work on the backyard some more... we hadn't intended to buy them but they were on sale along with the mulch we wanted. I love seeing the progress in the backyard!! Stuart is doing an amazing job!

Let's start with a little bit on Carter this week. We are working on him not being so stinking sassy and mean...so its been a little bit of a long week for all of us. On top of him being tired all the time he thinks it is so fun to push ALL my buttons. We had ONE good day this week... its a start! I am not giving up on him... Any advice I will gladly accept on what works with your kiddos when they are being turds. Some of his favorite things to do currently:
- Yell at us
- Stomp his foot when he doesn't get exactly what he wants
- Slam doors
- Paint
- Ride his bike
- "Help" me cook and bake
- Go to the neighbors house
Some funny things he has said: I let him pick a pizza at Sam's club (the take and bake) and he goes " not that one it has wheels on it" -- referring to olives.
We were having some Hot Tamales and he said "i need to get some water because my mouth is hot"
He has stopped calling me "honey"--- THANK GOODNESS. ALSO, a miracle happened today- Carter fell asleep on me at church- it was in the last 10 min... but hey, I'll take it!

Decker. Oh man- where to start with him. He is one little ball of fun and energy. He has learned that he loves to climb onto everything. His hair continues to get more and more blonde- he is 100% a toe head. We get comments on him everywhere we go! He doesn't talk too much yet- but his favorite word is "uh oh" , which he will say BEFORE he does something naughty. For example, he thinks its hilarious to throw his milk on the flow, so he says "uh oh" and then throws his milk. He also loves to play "peek-a-boo" but he says "DA" for boo... I happen to think that its the cutest thing ever. He had his first (of many) trips to the splash park and he was a little unsure ... mostly he likes to steal my chair. But he did venture to the water a few times. . . He has learned from Carter how to throw the best fits, so that is fun.
HA! In this picture he thought that dogs water bowl was a mini pool for him! :)

Sophie is huge. The end.

This week we went to the splash park (as I mentioned earlier) with some of my best friends from Bountiful, it was so much fun to be back together for a few hours! I love how well our kids can play together! I think I may have had more fun than the kids, if I am being honest! I love my house in Layton and the life we have and are creating here, but I will be honest- I miss my friends in Bountiful. I miss being able to just call/text and say I needed to get out and we would go. :) Just takes time to adjust. I also have been going through the house and doing some spring cleaning and dejunking... its SO fun. ;) But it does feel awesome to have it done.

Stuart --- well. Its the same as usual- works hard during the day and then comes home and works on the backyard. I feel so bad at how hot it suddenly decided to get...

We had Stake Conference this weekend and it was great- well the Saturday evening session. It was hard to listen during Sunday because of the two littles we had in tow. It was so nice on Saturday evening to leave the kids with a sitter and enjoy the talks that were given. We loved it- got to sit next to eachother and actually listen! There were great talks given and things that I needed to hear! I am so grateful for Heavenly Father and his ability to know what I need to hear and when I need to hear it! :)

Till next week XOXO

"Honey"

Wahoo. I am on a roll. :) SOO this week- was seemingly boring, but looking back at the pictures I took- maybe it wasn't? Its been a fun week! Let's start out with my goals for this last week- well if you remember it was to read the scriptures with my boys every day-- sadly I only did this 2 days this week. SO this will be my goal for this week as well. My second goal was to make my bed every day- I am HAPPY to report that I did much better with this goal. I made the bed 5 out of the 7 days. :) But I want to keep this goal for another week as well. Wish me Luck! :) Carter tarter pants... He has said some pretty funny things this week. First and foremost -- he has started calling me HONEY. It drives me bonkers and he thinks it is hilarious.... Stuart thinks it is funny too... gah. Another thing is when he is playing pretend he refers to himself as Carter Turnbow. So I asked him why he was saying "Turnbow" for his last name and he said so he could be just like Grandm...

Update on Summer

Well- I did it again. I stopped posting, life got in the way. I can't believe how fast the summer went, I mean, really. I wish I could say it was because we went on super fun vacations and to the pool all the time... because that certainly is not the case. I am a pretty boring mom. :) We stayed home a lot and went on a lot of bike rides. I wish I would have gone swimming more with the littles, but I was too nervous to take them on my own. Both Carter and Decker love the water and have no fear- which makes for one anxious mama at the pool. The other part is I was not feeling well because of the pregnancy-- but I will do a separate post on that next. So we played a lot inside and worked on the yard. . . oh the yard! I just have to say that its looking amazing! All of Stuart's hard work paid off. The grass is coming in and is simply beautiful!!!! We have been clear to walk on the front and even mow it! The back is a little bit slower in coming ...

What would you do for a free cookie?

I just have to post this so I don't forget this. What I am about to relate is 100% true and I am, honestly, still in shock from it all. . . At the end of last week Carter and our little neighbor friend (he is a few years older than Carter) were having a great time playing. They decided to go and ride bikes. Now, since Carter is only 4, we really limit where he is allowed to ride his bike without a parent. (I know I am kind of like a helicopter parent- but he is ONLY 4!) So when the boys headed out I reminded him to stay on our street and out of the street and to let me know where he would be at all times. . . That last I knew- they were going to be at his friends house... So when his mom texted me and asked me to send him home--- you know me--- I went into FULL panic mode. Went outside and was looking up and down the street and they were no where to be seen. Now full panic mode was pushed into border line panic attack mode. . . So about 30  okay 8 minutes later here came Carter d...
